The Newcastle United Newton's Cradle of Injuries continues to click-clack back and forth. One in. One out.
Sven Botman has given a massive hint that he will be back in contention for Newcastle United today after a three month layoff with a knee injury.
However, just as Botman returns, we reportedly lose another player as has been the story all season.
According to journalist Daniel Wales, Newcastle United will be without Fabian Schar this afternoon when Fulham come to town.
Daniel wrote on X at around midday that Schar is out for today's game.
"NEW: Fabian Schär ruled out of today’s game against Fulham."
We echo the sentiments of the first reply to Dan's post - if we don't laugh, we'll cry.
Botman will be way off the levels required to start the game, or at least if he does he's never going to last the full 90 minutes. Schar's timing is just a little bit off.
We now expect Paul Dummett to start alongside Jamaal Lascelles with Botman coming off the bench around the hour mark.
Lascelles and Dummett in central defence was a terrifying enough thought a few years ago, but now ... my word.
Nothing we can do about it though, just have to hope the old guard can keep it tight at the back. Seriously though, can we just call time on this season early?
