Newcastle United's midfield maestro Bruno Guimaraes has spoken to NUFC TV ahead of the Manchester United game.
Brazilian midfielder, Bruno Guimaraes has become Newcastle's talisman in the centre of the park since he arrived from Lyon in January 2021 for around £40miillion.
He's so important to the way Newcastle plays that when he's missing, Newcastle rarely wins and if he has a bad day, the team has a bad day, but even Bruno himself has admitted he may not be the most naturally gifted player in at the club.
Speaking to NUFC TV, Andy Kerr asked Bruno Guimaraes what he thinks of 17-year-old Lewis Miley who now finds himself part of Newcastle's first-team.
Bruno was extremely complimentary about Miley and even hinted at just how good the County Durham-born lad could become.
“Very good. He was unbelievable. He’s doing very well since the pre-season, he’s surprising everyone. I said before when I was 17 years old I was not as good player as he is. I hope he can keep it up.
“Everyone is impressed with him, he’s doing brilliant, I think Eddie [Howe]’s in love with him, so I’m happy for him.”
Basically, if Lewis Miley continues to work hard, he could become better than Bruno Guimaraes in a couple of years. That is pretty mind-blowing when you think about it, although not entirely surprising.
Miley is already demonstrating a maturity on the pitch way beyond his years and he still has so much to learn, so much more growing to do both physically and as a player.
I mean, look at him, he's not even hit puberty yet and he's over six foot tall and, let's be honest, he'd walk into the first team of tonight's opponents, Manchester United.
It seems that every day we write something about how great Lewis Miley is, and you know what? We make no apologies for it. We are the unofficial presidents of the non-existent Lewis Miley fan club.
