With Anthony Gordon amongst the nominees for Player of the Month and now Eddie Howe in contention for Manager of the Month is shows how well Newcastle United did in November.
Newcastle beat Arsenal and Chelsea in the Premier League in November and although they did slip to a 2-0 defeat to strugglers Bournemouth, the fact that Newcastle were able to pick up six points in the league at all in November given the injury crisis is testament to Eddie Howe.
Our gaffer has guided Newcastle out of some tricky situations in his two-year tenure at the club, namely defying all logic and history to guide us to safety after being winless after 14 games when he first arrived.
However, November has probably been his biggest test as a manager owing to the fact that every game saw Newcastle lose another player to injury when we already had an extensive injury list.
Newcastle lost to Bournemouth but they had the bulk of the first-team squad missing through injury as well as key man Bruno Guimaraes missing through suspension.
The Magpies were able to see off opposition from table-toppers Arsenal at the start of the month and Mauricio Pochettino's resurgent Chelsea at the weekend.
Those results have put Eddie Howe in contention for this month's Manager of the Month award along with Manchester United's Erik ten Hag, Bournemouth's Andoni Iraola, and Luton's Rob Edwards. You can vote for Eddie Howe here: https://www.premierleague.com/...
Eddie's got some strong competition this month, but when you take into account what he's had to deal with, he's definitely deserving of his place on the shortlist.
Make sure you head on over and register your vote for Eddie and let's see if we can bring home the double this month.
