The 2023/24 Fantasy Premier League prices for Kieran Trippier, Sven Botman, Bruno Guimarães, Joelinton, and Alexander Isak have been disclosed by The Premier League and the club over the past 24 hours.
Trippier was the top-scoring defender in the division in 2022/23, amassing an impressive 198 points. He commenced that campaign valued at £5.0m, peaked at £6.2m between gameweeks 31 and 34, and finally settled at £6.0m by season's end. For the outset of 2023/24, his price is £6.5m. This might seem a bit steep, especially if he splits set-piece duties with Sandro Tonali and any other new signings NUFC might make.
Botman, who tied for ninth as the highest-scoring defender in 2022/23 with 129 points, was on par with Big Dan Burn and 10 points behind his centre-back partner, Fabian Schär. The Dutchman's price was very stable last season, being set at £4.5m for 25 gameweeks and £4.4m in the remaining 13. He stays at £4.5m at the start of 2023/24, which seems like excellent value for a guaranteed starter in what is sure to be a mean defensive unit.
Bruno found himself tied in 45th position among all Premier League midfielders last season, garnering 107 points by the end of gameweek 38. Among Newcastle's regular central midfielders, he finished 14 points ahead of Sean Longstaff, eight points behind Joelinton, and 16 points behind Joe Willock. Bruno, who started the season at £6.0m, saw his value decrease to £5.5m by season's end. Surprisingly, he'll start 2023/24 at £6.0m again, which might dissuade many players from selecting him.
Joelinton cost £6.0m at both the start and end of the 2022/23 season, and he is set at the same price for the upcoming campaign. With Tonali's arrival, we might see Joelinton even more on the wing this season, meaning £6.0m could be a reasonable price for a midfielder essentially played as a forward. His 115 points in the previous campaign placed him 42nd among all Premier League midfielders. Expectations are high for him to surpass that total this season.
Finally, Alexander Isak will start 2023/24 at £7.5m. Despite not participating in over a quarter of matches due to injury in 2022/23, the flying Swede tied for 14th position among all strikers. He seems to be a bit of a bargain at this price point. Callum Wilson's form and fitness are the major concerns for Fantasy Premier League players. If Wilson continues scoring as he did at the end of 2022/23, we might see more of Isak playing out wide.
