Newcastle United may well find themselves in the market for a new goalkeeper next month as results since Martin Dubravka returned to the starting lineup haven't inspired confidence.
Current number one Nick Pope isn't expected to return to action until the end of the season after dislocating his shoulder and while we all thought it was a coin toss between Pope and Dubravka as to who was the better 'keeper, we're not beginning to realise that it's not even close between the two.
Therefore there's now a very strong chance that Eddie Howe may look to bring in another stopper in January. David De Gea is still without a club since leaving Manchester United and has been hotly tipped for the role.
However, reports from The Athletic also suggest that Aaron Ramsdale of Arsenal is also on the Magpies' radar.
The latest news on that one, however, is that despite Ramsdale clearly being unhappy at the situation he finds himself in, Arsenal are not prepared to let their £30million signing go in January.
It is thought that if a club were to make a 'substantial' offer for a permanent transfer of Ramsdale then a deal could potentially be done, but any notion of Newcastle being able to sign the England keeper on loan is right out of the window.
Whether Newcastle will want to spend big on another keeper is doubtful, as is Aaron Ramsdale coming to Newcastle to be in a similar position as he is now, fighting for the number one spot with Nick Pope.
Eddie Howe still has Loris Karius at his disposal, and to be honest, at this point, why not give him a shot? It surely can't hurt.
It would be amazing for Howe to use Karius against Liverpool and for him to keep a clean sheet against his old employers.
