Another report today has suggested that more top clubs are looking at the possibility of signing Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson.
This morning it was reported that Chelsea were eyeing up an £18million bid for the 31-year-old England striker and that Newcastle could be keen to sell.
Now TeamTalk believes that Chelsea could be joined by Arsenal, Manchester United and Aston Villa with their interest in Wilson.
Strikers with a proven record of scoring goals in the Premier League are like gold dust and there are several Premier League sides sorely lacking in that department.
One such side would be Newcastle were they to sell Callum Wilson. That would leave the Magpies with just Alexander Isak as a recognised striker.
If the club are seriously entertaining the idea of letting Wilson leave this month they must have somebody lined up and it's just a case of releasing the funds because there's no way we can rely on just Isak for the rest of the season with his injury record.
Who that potential incoming striker could be we have no idea as most of the names we've seen linked to Newcastle recently have been midfielders such as Amadou Onana from Everton and Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest.
Benjamin Sesko and Serhou Guirassy have been mentioned this month but Sesko was mentioned as a summer signing and the talk surrounding Guirassy has gone very quiet with the striker on duty at the African Cup of Nations, and with his release clause expiring.
The best play here seems to be to hold on to Wilson until the summer and then let the vultures fight amongst themselves while we use our new Adidas money to bring in a new striker.
