Newcastle United put their sub-par performance against Bournemouth well and truly behind them today battering Chelsea 4-1 at St James' Park.
It was a spectacular display from Eddie Howe's men this afternoon with every player putting in a top shift and making sure that there could be no question over us being worthy winners against this London opponent.
Newcastle once again scored four goals in a game and once again it was four different scorers. Something that's becoming a bit of a trademark for this side.
Alexander Isak marked his return from injury with a fine finish on 12 minutes. Big Skipper Jamaal Lascelles put Newcastle back into the lead with a brilliant Header after Raheem Sterling pulled on back for Chelsea with a stunning free kick. Joelinton added his name to the scoresheet 90 seconds later before Anthony Gordon put the bow on it.
It was a performance to be proud of and one man who was very happy with the result was Mini Skipper Kieran Trippier who took to Instagram to share his delight.
"Unbelievable today, that's the character we needed to bounce back. St James was rocking."
Not only did Newcastle bounce back in style after a lacklustre showing last time out, but for the first time in ages, we picked up no fresh injuries during the game.
Although Eddie Howe has now confirmed that Joe Willock has aggravated his achilles problem and could be out for another lengthy stint and that Sean Longstaff is very unlikely to be fit for PSG on Tuesday.
After the way this team played today, there's no reason they can't march into Paris and do to them again on their turf what we did to them at St James' Park.
