Newcastle United legend Rob Lee is in town for this evening's Paris Saint-Germain game and is already having a day to remember on Tyneside.

The dynamic duo are back together again

The classy midfielder's first stop was Ponteland, where he was meeting up with fellow Gallowgate hero Alan Shearer for a pre-match pint (or three).

Lee and Shearer were on the sauce by early afternoon, our former number seven (and 37) enjoying a lager with our former number nine on his usual Guinness.

Both are expected at St. James' Park this evening to see Eddie Howe's side in action against Kylian Mbappé and company, with Shearer's son Will also making the trip up from London for the fixture.

What were the odds of this happening?

It was what Lee encountered on his way to meet Big Al that really caught people's attention, though, as there was one hell of a coincidence.

It turned out that Rob's taxi driver, Mick, was wearing a signed version of his 1998 FA Cup Final shirt and was absolutely buzzing to have his hero in his cab.

Lee's day has already been made, by the looks of it. Here's hoping the lads can put the cherry on top for him later on with a win against Luis Enrique's French champions.
