The team news is in for Newcastle United's clash with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park this evening - Kick-off is 8pm with no live UK TV coverage.

Eddie Howe has gone with the same side that beat Tottenham Hotspur 4-0 which means there's no place for Lewis Hall or Tino Livramento as we'd hoped, but both are on the bench.

Callum Wilson is the big addition to the squad as he comes in to take up a place on the bench for the first time since he was injured against Nottingham Forest.

It also turns out that Joelinton was just getting his regular haircut and that it meant nothing regarding his availability - We can't say we're surprised, but it was nice to have hope.

Unchanged from Spurs

Eddie Howe has named the same XI that hammered Spurs

This side did exceptionally well against Tottenham, winning 4-0, but it doesn't feel like the cautious tactics employed for that game are really warranted for this fixture.

Spurs had something like 74% possession against us despite losing and I just can't see Crystal Palace having that much of the ball tonight.

It may be a different tactical approach by Howe, just using the same players, which would make more sense, but we'll see how it plays out.

Newcastle have some good options on the bench

Meanwhile, Oliver Glasner has named a team without Michael Olise in the starting XI which should be a boost to Newcastle fans, although he is on the bench. Eberechi Eze and Jean-Philippe Mateta start.

We were hoping to have a couple more players back for this one, but we're still confident the lads can get the job done.

At least with Hall, Livramento and Wilson we have some decent options off the bench. It should be a good game.
