As a Newcastle United fan himself, Lewis Hall knows what it is that the supporters of this club love to see the most.

Lewis Hall is believed to have had his £28million move from Chelsea to Newcastle all tied up already, but we're still awaiting official confirmation.

The 19-year-old has been on loan from Chelsea this season but the deal contained an obligation to buy should Newcastle finish higher than 15th in the Premier League, something which has now been mathematically confirmed meaning the clause has been triggered.

It hasn't been the season the fans were hoping for when the deal was announced, and it likely wasn't what Hall himself had envisioned when he made the switch, but with just a few games to go in this season, Hall is starting to make his mark.

Hall wants the fans to feel confident in his ability

Injuries have forced Eddie Howe to rely more on Lewis Hall lately, but the youngster has stepped up and shown glimpses of why Newcastle fans were so excited to see him join in the summer.

Hall recently spoke to The Chronicle where he talked about impressing the fans and what he's been doing behind the scenes to come up to Eddie Howe's standard.

"Whenever I am playing I want them to feel confident in me. I want them to feel the excitement.

"I want to give something going forward and defensively as well which I have been working on and improving. It is a big thing for me to show the fans what I can do. Hopefully, as time goes on they will appreciate it more and more."

Hall is set to play a big part in the remaining games

Hall rarely featured for Newcastle this season which led to a lot of speculation as to whether Howe ever wanted him at the club in the first place. It was thought he was perhaps a Dan Ashworth signing that Howe didn't agree with.

Fortunately, that doesn't appear to be the case and it was more to do with Eddie Howe not fully trusting Hall's defensive abilities which does make sense given he started life as a midfielder and has only recently moved to left-back.

Now that Hall has worked on his defending, Howe clearly feels more confident in him and as such has no problem putting him into the starting lineup. We expect to see much more of Hall in the closing games of this season.
