Joelinton to return to the squad tonight? - We've seen stranger leaps in logic pan out

Newcastle United fans are getting excited over a potential return to the match-day squad for Joelinton after an image appeared on social media.

The Magpies are in action tonight (Wednesday) in South London as they take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League - kick-off is 8pm with no live UK TV coverage.

Eddie Howe must once again piece together a squad from the players he has left as another injury crisis has swept its way through the club, however there are a couple of players we expect to be back in action tonight.

Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall are expected to return after missing the game against Tottenham, but there's now hope that Joelinton could be back, too.

The blonde is back!

Joelinton has been missing for almost four months after undoing surgery on a groin issue, and while it was unknown whether or not he'd be back in action this season, recent indications are that he's well on the road to recovery.

Eddie Howe recently said that he doesn't want to rush Joelinton back too soon, but a post on his Instagram, picked up by @NUFCMurph on X, shows the Brazilian getting his trademark blonde back in his hair which has us speculating that he's making a comeback.

Okay, so it's probably a bit of a stretch to suggest that just because Joelinton is having his hair done that he's ready for action, but we've seen stranger theories pan out.

It does seem a bit too soon, however, but if he has a place on the bench tonight, even if he's an unused substitute, that would be a massive boost to the team and the fans.

We just miss him so much.
