Newcastle United's website has officially moved to a new domain after almost three decades in their previous one.

The work to revitalise the club off the pitch has continued, and today the club made the switch to newcastleunited.com

The move comes as the club looks to grow the club globally and explore other ways of driving up revenue.

The club completed the move this morning, but the domain has been in the hands of the Magpies since 1998 but has not been used until now.

Newcastle are still trying to get rid of Ashley's remains

The domain change ultimately means more commercial growth for the club, the connections in North America and the Middle East mean that the fanbase is growing.

It makes sense that the club changed their online identity to show appeal to a worldwide audience.

But some fans may believe that this is just another layer of skin being shed by the club to put the clubs previous ownership in the past.

Newcastle were taken over in October 2021 and have been working hard behind the scenes to remove any previous ideologies of Mike Ashley.

Things like the Sports Direct signs being taken down are a symbol of change at the club, and a new website domain is a big thing no matter how insignificant it may seem.
