Newcastle United face a tough test at Selhurst Park on Wednesday night as they take on in-form Crystal Palace in the Premier League - Kick-off is 8pm.

Eddie Howe's Mags have their work cut out for them in South London on Wednesday night as they come up against an in-form Crystal Palace side who are coming into the game having picked up six points in the last two games against top-half sides.

Oliver Glasner will be hoping to make it three in a row whereas Eddie Howe will be looking to make it five games unbeaten for his side.

Form and recent history are very much in Newcastle's favour here, but neither really matters on the night.

Paul Merson can't separate the two sides

Paul Merson has made his score prediction for Sportskeeda and is unable to separate the two sides.

"Who was that Crystal Palace performance coming the other day? They have three match winners in attack with Eberechi Eze, Michael Olise and Jean-Philippe Mateta and in my opinion, that's the best front three in the bottom half of the Premier League table.

"Newcastle United would have looked at this one as a winnable game a couple of weeks ago, but that situation has changed dramatically. I'm going for the two sides to share the spoils in an entertaining contest.

A win would keep Newcastle in the hunt for Europe

We certainly hope it is an entertaining contest, but we could do without leaking two goals.

Newcastle haven't conceded a goal to Crystal Palace in over 500 minutes and it would certainly be nice to keep that going.

After West Ham dropped points to Palace at the weekend, a defeat here wouldn't be the end of the world, but ideally Newcastle need to keep this current run of form going to grab one of those European places.
