Alan Shearer has now added his Team of the Week to the mix after Newcastle United's 4-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur and the former Toon legend has made an odd call.

We know that Big Al has to remain impartial, but that didn't stop him from picking three Newcastle players in his team of the week last week. He must have read our report on that where we said his bias was showing as he's done an over-correction this week.

Shearer did pick two Newcastle players in his Premier League Team of the Week, which is decent, opting for the same duo as Garth Crooks, but Shearer actually justified his decisions rather than focus on the referee and Tottenham's ticket price rise.

But we can't help feel that Anthony Gordon has been a bit shafted here. A goal and two assists, a WhoScored? rating of 10 and the poor lad didn't make it into Al's side? Pfft

Shearer, after calling it a tactical masterclass by Eddie Howe, didn't even pick the Newcastle gaffer as the Manager of the Week either. Come on, Al. We're sorry we made fun of your bias, mate, but howay.

At least he did use what Fabian Schar and Alexander Isak did to justify his selections, we'll give him that.

Fabian Schar (Newcastle)
"A goal and a superb performance. He kept Son Heung-min quiet all afternoon."

Alan Shearer hails Alexander Isak's season as 'sensational'

Alexander Isak (Newcastle)
"What a sensational season for Isak! He left Micky van de Ven on the floor for the first goal and then left him behind for his second."

What makes Gordon's absence worse is the inclusion of Bruno Fernandes. Yuck!

Ah well, it is what it is, we'll take two players in the Team of the Week over none at all that's for sure.
