Newcastle's £45m talisman now sits on top of Europe's goal chances created charts

There aren't many players having a better season than Anthony Gordon at Newcastle United. You could even argue that he's up there as one of the best in the Premier League.

In fact, as shared by The Sportsman on X, you can make a solid case for him being one of the better players in Europe's top five leagues this season.

Anthony Gordon currently sits at the top of the charts for most goal-creating actions this season across the top five leagues, tied with a Newcastle United target, Florian Wirtz.

It just shows how integral Gordon has been to Newcastle's season. We'd hate to think where we'd be without him.

Anthony Gordon has been phenomenal all season

Anthony Gordon, despite picking up an injury, hasn't actually missed a Premier League game this season through injury, however, he did miss two games through suspension.

The transformation from last season to this is nothing short of astonishing. Gordon promised to put the work in over the summer after struggling initially following his £45million move from Everton, and he did just that and it's paid off massively.

We never understood why it took Gareth Southgate so long to actually call up the winger for England, but he saw sense in the end, now surely he has to be on that plan to the Euros this summer.

Gordon leads two other Premier League youngsters in the chart

Fellow Premier League Englishmen, Ollie Watkins of Aston Villa and Chelsea's Cole Palmer make the list and they're both likely to be in Southgate's Euro's squad too, but if there's only room for one of them then surely it has to be Gordon.

Obviously, we're slightly biased, but the stats are right there. You also have to take into account just how often the personnel around Gordon has changed this season due to Newcastle's injury list, and it's never fazed him.

We even dare go as far as to say that Gordon should not only be in the England squad for the Euros, but he should be starting, too.
