Newcastle United could be looking to strengthen their options down the right side of their attack this summer.

Miguel Almiron has been hotly tipped to leave the club this summer after coming close to an exit in January. That would leave Jacob Murphy as our only recognised right-winger.

Anthony Gordon proved at the weekend that he can be very effective in that position with Harvey Barnes on the opposite flank, but we'd still need more numbers for cover which is why the Magpies seem to constantly be linked with wingers.

One player who's been linked several times is Barcelona's Raphinha who has had a troubled time since he moved from Leeds United.

Raphinha could return to the Premier League this summer

Barcelona have set their price for the Brazilian

Raphinha hasn't been able to nail down a starting spot for the Catalan giants since his £55million move, and as a result is often said to be unsettled which has sparked interest from Premier League clubs, including Newcastle.

Now it has been said that one Premier League club has made their move for Raphinha already, having had a £51million bid outright rejected by Barcelona. The report by Spanish outlet Sport (h/t The Yorkshire Evening Post) doesn't name the side, but it does go on to suggest that Barcelona will be willing to part with Raphinha should a bid of €80million (£68million) come in.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United all hold an interest in Raphinha along with Newcastle, so there could be quite the scrap for his signature this summer now that a price as been set.

PSR will play a big part in any interest Newcastle have in Raphinha

Newcastle have to be mindful of Profit and Sustainability rules, so £68million might be a bit much to be spending on one player this summer with so many positions needing to be improved.

Of course, if the Magpies are able to pick up a decent fee for Miggy, that could open the door for a bigger bid for Raphinha and put Newcastle back in the mix.

The 27-year-old was hailed as 'unbelievable' by Kalvin Phillips during their time at Leeds when the duo combined to keep Leeds in the top flight before they both departed.
