Newcastle United had several players out on international duty this time around, so let's have a look at if they played, how they performed, and—of course—if they got injured.

Alexander Isak & Emil Krafth – Sweden

Portugal 5-2 Sweden: Isak played the full 90 minutes for Sweden in his new 'behind the striker' role. We watched it, and it probably didn't go the way the new Sweden manager wanted. Krafth played the last 30 minutes and was as solid as he normally is.

Sweden 1-0 Albania: Both Toon stars started for Sweden, and Isak was a clear standout. Played out on the left for most of the game, he made a real impact and looked bright. Krafth was replaced late on and was typically steady.

Anthony Gordon – England

England 0-1 Brazil: Gordon began the contest and was one of the few England players to have a good game, showing the same energy he does for Newcastle. The match was a clear 'shop window' game for Gordon and he passed the test with flying colours.

England 2-2 Belgium: The winger came on with ten minutes to go in the score draw at Wembley on Tuesday evening. Gordon was lively from the second he came on and helped England rescue the game late on.

Bruno Guimarães – Brazil

England 0-1 Brazil: This was a typical Bruno performance, as he once again showed the world how he can dominate a midfield in key matches.

Spain 3-3 Brazil: The central midfielder once again started for Brazil and came off in the 46th minute as part of a planned set of changes. He didn't catch the eye as much as he did against England, but he was by no means poor.

Fabian Schär – Switzerland

Denmark 0-0 Switzerland: Schar played the full 90 minutes for his country in its bore draw with Denmark and looked solid.

Republic of Ireland 0-1 Switzerland: The centre-back was in from the start for Switzerland once again against Ireland, being subbed off after 80 minutes after helping his side to a second successive clean sheet.

Martin Dúbravka – Slovakia

Slovakia 0-2 Austria: Dubs started in the 2-0 loss and conceded a goal in just six seconds, an unwanted new record for international football for our stand-in goalkeeper.

Norway 1-1 Slovakia: He did not feature in the match day squad, with the Norwegian commentator stating that he had 'left the squad for personal reasons'. Could we see Loris Karius and his gardening gloves again on Saturday?

Garang Kuol – Australia U23s

Australia U23s 2-1 Iraq Under-23s: Garang came on once the game was pretty much over. He played the final 13 minutes and did little of note.

Australia U23s (2)1-1(1) Egypt U23s: Kuol started the game, won a penalty, and got on the scoresheet from the spot. The result set up Australia to play against South Korea in the final.

Australia U23s (3)2-2(4) South Korea U23s: The 19-year-old came on late in the game to be used for penalties. Sadly for Garang, his penalty was saved as Australia lost.

Lewis Hall & Lewis Miley – England U20s

Poland U20s 1-5 England U20s: Miley started, and was subbed off late, while Hall would come on late and provide some key balls for the England frontmen.

Czechia U20s 1-3 England U20s: Miley did not feature as he was withdrawn from the squad with injury (sigh). However, Hall did feature, coming on for the final 15 minutes where he helped change the game. Hall would link up twice with Dane Scarlett to secure two late assists for England.

Leo Shahar & Trevan Sanusi – England U17s

England U17s 5-1 Northern Ireland U17s: Shahar started the game at left-back, and provided a stunning assist for Baylee Dipepa. Shahar played the full 90 minutes, while Sanusi was an unused sub.

England U17s 5-0 Hungary U17s: Both Newcastle lads were involved in another huge win for the England U17s. Shahar started the game, while Sanusi came on at the start of the second half.

England U17s 1-2 France U17s: Shahar played the full 90, while Sanusi was again an unused sub.

Alex Murphy – Ireland U21s

San Marino U21s 0-7 Republic of Ireland U21s: Murphy was an unused substitute for the ROI in its 7-0 thrashing of San Marino.

Johnny Emerson & Charlie McArthur – Scotland U19s

Scotland U19s 1-3 Italy U19s: Neither Toon player came on the pitch for the first game of the break.

Scotland U19s 2-3 Georgia U19s: McArthur played the full 90 minutes for Scotland, while Emerson remained on the bench.

Czechia U19s 2-0 Scotland U19s: McArthur started the game, but was sent off late on for a second yellow. Emerson wasn't in the squad.
